Arc Raiders developers are "aware of" problems with matchmaking at the moment, and Embark Studios has been working on a solution: "Our team investigates"
Unfortunately, there are some matchmaking issues right now. Embark Studios has been very aware of these issues and is working on a hotfix.
Ossen Julia, community lead for arc raiders items for sale on the official Discord server, announced this. Julia wrote: "We are aware that matchmaking issues continue to occur for some players." Our team is looking into it and will share any updates we have as soon as possible.
The problem is not specified, but Twitter posts indicate that wait times are higher than usual at the moment. One user says that the wait time for matches has increased in recent days. Another tweets: "10-minute waiting times for matches where I am the only one in attendance at least twice."
The queueing times may not be long but they are frustrating for a game which has been smooth and consistent since its launch in late October. "I usually give it between two and three minutes, then I go back to the queue. Another poster said, "I also assumed that it was because I am getting queued in the 'friendly lobbies'."
Re-queuing may seem to fix the issue, but it's an inconvenience that can take away precious time from playing the game. Arc Raiders is a game that has been well received since its release a month and a half ago. However, these players are free to move on. Thankfully, Embark has taken the lead and should have a solution in place soon.
Embark Studios is working on Arc Raiders as long it can to ensure that players remain interested.
mmoset Arc Raiders is the biggest breakout hit of 2025, even if you exclude Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Embark Studios’ newest game has completely eclipsed the holiday shooter discussion in a year when Battlefield released its best entry in many years and Call of Duty...released a new title (good for them!). Arc Raiders' win at The Game Awards as Best Multiplayer cemented its place as the best shooter game.
Robert Sammelin, the art director of Embark told PC Gamer that Embark has a 10-year plan and that their "ambition is to keep the game alive as long as possible." It's a live game."
He says, "It is something we want to keep going for as long as possible as long as the players are engaged with it, have fun, and see that it's evolving in a positive way."
Sammelin continues: "I think that games like this will develop based on community behaviours and feedback." He then explains how important it is to not only pick out what players enjoy, but also keep the game fresh by adding "things in the mix" that "sort of afford new challenges within the game."
If you're worried about Arc Raiders, I would not be. Sammelin says, "I believe there are a variety of ways we can go with this. Time will tell what we do." We have a long-standing idea of what we want to do.
