Update: around five in the afternoon, Facebook and Instagram showed signs of reviving, with some intermittency in the service, and a few minutes later all services, including WhatsApp have been restored, as Facebook announced on Twitter : “For the most part community of people and companies around the world that depend on us: we are sorry. We have been working to restore access to our apps and services and are happy to report that they are now back online. Thank you for sticking with us.”
The great blackout of Instagram, Whatsapp and Facebook, a chronicle of the biggest fall in their history…until now
Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram fell in Spain… and around the world. Since Indonesia Email List approximately 10:30 am on Monday, multiple users reported problems being able to connect to any of the Zuckerberg empire's social networks, however for hours no user was able to access any of the Facebook services.
As on other occasions , the blackout of the three most used social networks in the world arose suddenly, almost simultaneously, causing the impossibility of accessing Facebook and Instagram, or sending/receiving messages from WhatsApp, and although these types of outages have not been rare over the years, the fact that so many apps from the world's largest social media company go down at once and for so long has been extremely unusual.
And although several hours have passed since the crash, the company has not given further explanation about what is happening : “We are aware that some people are having problems accessing our applications and products. “We are working to get everything back to normal as soon as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience ,” has been the only official statement that the company has shared through Twitter so far.
Three hours later Mike Schroepfer, CTO of Facebook offered his “ sincere apologies to everyone affected by the interruptions to Facebook services at this time. “We are experiencing network issues and teams are working as fast as they can to debug and restore them as quickly as possible.”
What happened to Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp? The latest reports
More than four hours after the catastrophe began on Facebook, there was still no sign or probable restoration of services or estimate of the time remaining to solve it, and it was almost eight hours that were required to restore its operation, but what was it? What caused this big failure?
Although there is no official statement yet, it is known that within Facebook , the outage broke almost all internal communication systems and employees had to resort to their Outlook email accounts, although they could not receive emails coming from Facebook. from external addresses, while they claim to have problems making calls from work cell phones, Facebook's internal communications platform, Workplace, was also down, leaving many unable to do their work and in the meantime they had to resort to other platforms such as LinkedIn, Zoom, and Discord chat rooms to communicate.
