Resources for making videos and audios VIDEO/ MARCH 13, 2020 In these moments of exceptionality at our University, we need to know tools and resources to be able to follow our teaching and learning in a non-face-to-face manner. Professor Juanjo Bototev , from the Fac. of FIMA, as an answer to the many questions that have come to him about how to make videos, he has created a group in STREAM (video space in the UB Cloud) with the aim of serving the entire UB Community (it is open to all users with credentials), with material for those who need it.
As we told you, you must log in with your UB France WhatsApp Number List credentials to see it. The group has called it "UB and non-UB Resource Tutorials" and they are 7 short videos (one to two minutes, except for one that is 5 minutes) that explain which tools we can use to make audios and videos (a video about SKYPE is missing which will be added soon). Within this channel (which is actually called "group") it has 3 sections: Presentation , Voice Tools and Video Tools . From the CRAI-Docència we appreciate the excellent initiative that Juanjo has shared with us, and we believe that all possible dissemination has been done, and that is why we are sending it to you. It will obviously be of great use to us during this exceptional period, and who knows, if with this we can help some interested users acq.GIMP: The best free Photoshop alternative for photo editing GRAPHIC DESIGN FREE/ FEBRUARY 28, 2020 When we talk about programs to edit photographs, one of the most well-known and used, especially by professionals, is Photoshop. But, to be able to use Adobe software, it is mandatory to pay licenses and subscriptions which, for the majority, are excessive. Fortunately, there are excellent alternatives to image editing software, and without a doubt, one of the best and most powerful is GIMP.
GIMP is a completely free and open source image editing program for all users, both amateurs and professionals. Although this program is not as complete as Photoshop, the truth is that for home use it is more than sufficient. And even some professionals will also be able to save some money by choosing this program as an alternative to software. Characteristics Since its inception, GIMP has wanted to be one of the best alternatives to Adobe's photo editing and retouching software. Of course, the main purpose of this program is to allow users to edit their photos with professional finishes. It has an interface written in GTK in which we can differentiate 3 parts. On the left we find the main tools of the program; on the right the layers menu and in the center the space for the image we are going to retouch. In some ways GIMP is more limited than Photoshop, it has fewer tools and the layer support is quite inferior. Photoshop has features that you won't find in GIMP, such as some professional-level plugins, for example, Camera RAW, or compatibility with external programs. TOOLS These are the main tools that GIMP offers us to edit images: Selection tools.
