No more lead in pottery! This project could be the solution
Exposure to lead is a serious public health problem that affects millions of people around the world, since it is a toxic metal found in various sources, such as old paint, contaminated water and, in the specific case of Mexico, there is lead in traditional pottery. Knowing this is of utmost importance because prolonged exposure to this metal can cause irreversible damage to the neurological development of children, affecting their IQ, learning ability and behavior. It is in this context that socially responsible companies such as Clarios intervene to reduce the rates of exposure to this element. Through the Clarios Foundation, a strategic alliance has been established with Pure Earth , an organization recognized internationally for its philanthropic work aimed at effective solutions in relation to lead and other heavy metals.Together, these organizations have developed various programs and campaigns in Mexico and around the world to address problems arising from lead exposure. Through the Approved Clay Sao Tome and Principe Email List program, we work directly with pottery communities to promote the production of safe clay, thus reducing the risk of poisoning and protecting the health of families.
