His paternal great-grandfather, Alexander Worthy Clerk (1820-1906), a Jamaican Moravian missionary arrived within the Danish Protectorate of Christiansborg (now the suburb of Osu) in Accra on the Gold Coast in 1843, as a part of the original group of 24 West Indian missionaries who worked underneath the auspices of the Basel Evangelical Missionary Society of Basel, Switzerland. Campbell's junior faculty - previously positioned on an adjoining site and referred to as Cabin Hill - is now also located on the location. Till 2006 pupils started at the college at age 11, however since the closure of the college's separate preparatory school, Cabin Hill, the school has accepted pupils from age four into the newly built Junior School, and each boys and women into the school's kindergarten positioned on the varsity's grounds. Voluntary grammar colleges, though state faculties by educational funding, are every managed by impartial educational charities on the privately owned grounds and infrastructure of these charities. The capital fees charged to the grammar school pupils are purely for the upkeep of historic buildings and grounds and not for any a part of the training. The College's 'Voluntary B' designation enables this grammar school, which is state funded for training provision, to charge a level of charges to pupils, separate fully to the training course of, formally termed the "capital payment". |
