The Minister of Culture, Miquel Iceta, is in Cannes where he attends different events on the occasion of the 75th edition of the Cannes film festival. At 11 this Thursday, a meeting took place at the Splendid Hotel with Spanish filmmakers and producers of our country's films participating in the festival.

He also recalled that film aid has increased by 128.57% since 2018. He assures that the money allocated to the Spanish film industry could reach 20 million euros this year.
Iceta has also announced the relaunch of the Cinematography and Audiovisual Protection Fund. He has also promised that from the European funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan; Some 45 million euros will be reserved for the production and international promotion of our cinema .
This afternoon, the Minister of Culture will attend two screenings of the Cannes Festival, both of Spanish films . According to his schedule, at three fifteen he will see the feature film Pacifiction (Tourment sur les îles) at the Grand Théâtre Lumière , directed by Albert Serra. At seven thirty he will enjoy As bestas , the new film by filmmaker Rodrigo Sorogoyen, at the Debussy Théâtre de Cannes.
