The Embrace prefabricated house bases its design on the composition of two zones. On the one hand, a private air-conditioned space, within a thermally insulated envelope. And on the other a semi-public area. Above both spaces there is what its authors call "climate shield." It is a second skin that drastically improves the local climate around the thermal envelope of the house. It prevents the entire house from getting wet when it rains, for example. Embrace-solar-house-common-terrace This arrangement responds very well to the strong wind and cold that usually occurs in Denmark, because its creators are from there. outdoor-Embrace-home-solar-equipment-DTU The genesis of House Embrace Embrace-solar-house-neighborhood-Nordhavn-CopenhagenThis idea arises from the existing migratory trend from rural areas to large cities, where a greater demand for housing is created. And this is where the rooftops of existing buildings come into play again, adding Embrace houses to the top of their structures. This not only creates social ties, but also technical ones, with the creation of a smart grid. Because the intention is to share part of the surplus energy generated by its solar panels with the rest of the building. The design team chose the port neighborhood of Nordhavn (Copenhagen) as the project application area.

Embrace-sun-house-living-dining-kitchen General characteristics of the Embrace home Embrace-solar-house-render-modelIt is necessary to point out that this project is designed for a family of two people Brother Cell Phone List and how important the passive strategies it proposes are, as those offered by its active technological solutions. This project has two very different envelopes. There is a smaller one that incorporates thermal insulation, and another larger one ("climate shield") that is above the previous one. The “weather shield” is what gives this house character. It protects it directly from the rain, while serving to create a new type of space: a terrace that is not open air, is outside the thermal envelope, but is not directly affected by inclement weather. It is like an indoor garden that can be used at any time of year, and that has a semi-public character, since it allows its occupants to make contact with their neighbors.
Embrace-sun-house-roof-bath Thermal and photovoltaic solar panels have been arranged on the “climate shield”. The latter are very small, and are placed following a specific pattern to provide shade for the house. This layer also has openings to guarantee good ventilation of the entire home. And a skylight that lets a lot of light pass into the interior. The area protected by the thermal envelope has been reduced to the maximum, and only affects the living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and technical core. But the scheme drawn with the outer protective shield and the insulating envelope is quite attractive. It is a shame that its final finish was so poor, giving the feeling at all times of being an unfinished house.
